The origin of the project

Committed to a policy of value-creation, animation and economic development, the city of Antibes Juan-les-Pins decided to build a new convention center replacing the old and obsolete structure.
In the framework of a public-private partnership with the Duval Financial Group, a private investor, the Parisian architect Jean-Jacques Ory was called in for the project.

The public-private partnership revolves around the following principles:

  • The construction of the convention center is subjected to an administrative long lease (BEA acronym standing for “bail emphytéotique administrative”) signed between the City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins and the Imfined Group (Duval Financial).
  • The city of Antibes has a 14000m² multiservice amenities integrating a convention center of 6500m², of which over 7500m² are for commercial surfaces and the Tourism and Convention Office.

The city made available to IMFINED a land for a period of 50 years:

  • In return, IMFINED guarantees the financing and the realization of the operation, which includes private facilities (stores and parking) and a Convention Center to the service of the city.
  • The city keeps control of the Convention Center management.
  • At the end of the lease, the city will recover the totality of the building complex.

An environmental approach has attended the project’s design in response to several goals:

  • the conservation and optimization of green spaces
  • the planting of pine trees in the extension of the “green color” from the sea
  • a bioclimatic construction logic (reduction of energy consumption)
  • a guarantee of comfort and well-being of the public  

Our missions

The Tourism and Convention Office of the city of Antibes Juan-les-Pins assures, within the framework of a public service delegation, the exploitation of the Convention Center.
The Tourism and Conventions Office, a public establishment with industrial and commercial nature (EPIC, acronym for Etablissement Public à caractère Industriel et Commercial), guarantees all the reception and touristic promotion of the city. It also fulfills event organization missions, especially the organizing of the International Jazz Festival “Jazz à Juan”, the Fireworks Festival, the magic festival “La Colombe d’or” (“The golden dove”), and the Mediterranea Festival.   
Its action joins an economic development policy of the city of Antibes Juan-les-Pins. True ambassador of this destination, it fulfils its role as a driving force focusing on a policy of supporting the private actors of the touristic economy. The creation of the “Partners Club” constitutes a real asset for the promotion of this destination with an encouraged dynamic around the Convention Center.
